Thoughts on Pancho Villa

Pancho Villa was a man who was the root of quite a bit of controversy. He started his killing career early and increased his list of victims since then. Still, many regard him was a hero. Others, however, believe he was an evil, villainous outlaw.

He has many similarities with Juan de Oñate and Billy the Kid. Both he and Juan de Oñate were cruel and ruthless towards the human beings they tormented, regardless of circumstances. Both he and Billy the Kid were outlawed early, and they both made attempts to blend in with society again.

Deciding whether he was a hero or a villain can be tricky and requires lots of outside considerations from both sides of the border. In my eyes, he ranges anywhere from villain to antihero. With all of the bad decisions he made, it is difficult for me to think of him as a true hero.
