women in New Mexico

Soledad Chacon, Isabel Eckles and Berta M. Paxton. Chacon won in state wide election, the nations first to do so. she won sectitery of the state, 1922. in that campaign she got 9,000 votes. Eckles was elected on the state board for education, then elected superintendent for Grant county. Paxton won house of representatives in 1922. then appointed to the chair of the committee on enrolled bills.
