If you was one of the Hispanic Explorers, I would have done differently to prevent violence between our people and the Zuni people is that I would say that you are under the rule of the crown and we you will help us and we will not give you any harm. You could choose your religion and you have rights.

What would I need to change in order to guarantee peace is have a good communicated and have peace agreements that are in affect all the time giver us some of your food and we will to. We will have a trade partnership.

If I was one of the Zuni, how would you have reacted to the arrival of these conquistadors are that they are mean and act sort of surprised but kind of suspicion of what there actions would be and or do things to us.

What, if anything, do I think could have been done to prevent violence between your community and the Hispanic Explorers is that I think that the Spanish people should have not forced on them as fast as they did. Take it slower and have peace with the two people.

What role do you think ideas of race and religion played in the Hispanic Conquistadors attitudes toward indigenous peoples in New Mexico because they were the more advanced people and had more power they could force the people with religion and trying to convert them to fast.

Do you think ideas of race and religion continue to fuel conflicts in the world today - why or why not? I think over time it was like a time bomb waiting to explode because of the problems with the natives and Hispanic people. I think that the Spanish went to fast and the Indians felt a lot of pressure to agree with them, the Spanish people.

  1. I like your point about trade - I think you are right that the relationship between the Zuni and the Spaniards could have been very different if the Spaniards had come looking to initiate a trade relationship rather than to conquer and plunder the famed cities of gold. Nice insight :)
