1. Compare Juan de Oñate's treatment of the Manso people to his later treatment of the Acoma Pueblo.
Juan de Onate and their man treated Manso people very nicely. Oñate and his men presented clothes to Manso people, and Mansos give fresh fish.
But on the contrary, Onate treated Acma Pueblo very badly
he sent his man to find gold or silver. but they couldn't find anything. Oñate's soldiers began to demand tribute from the Pueblo people. and when pueblo people refused, Oñate killed 800 people to punish them.
2. Discuss WHY YOU think Oñate's actions differed from Coronado's at first, and why his treatment of the Manso differed so greatly from his treatment of the Acoma Pueblo.
Onate treated Manso people very nicely. Because He and his man give them clothes and Mansos people give them back, But Acoma Pueblo refuse to offer food to and against the Onate.
3. Finally, discuss your take on Oñate - Some people consider him a hero to be venerated and others a villain to be despised - What do you think and why?
Onate was a hero in some way. But we should not forget how many people died because of him.
