In this 50 min. film I was able to understand the diversity of people that live around the Gulf of Mexico. I think that Michelle Rodriguez’s ancestors struggle to be purely white led her to forget her African heritage that was present when her ancestors intermarried. “I think this fact that her ancestors intermarried is very scandalous and she probably should have kept it to herself”. However it was interesting to know that Michelle Rodriguez is 21.3 % African. It was surprising at first but after referring to what I know about the diversity of Spain the fact was more obvious and understandable.
I believe I am 50% African and 50% European however I believe I may be more white than black. My mother is at least 75% African I would not know exactly due to some slave owners in America did bread with African slaves in means of rape. However I do not know of any white relatives on my mother’s side of the family. I am almost exactly shore that my great grandfather was 100% polish. I do know that my grandfather and my grate grandfather fled Poland before Hitler was considered a threat to the polish people. However I do not know many of my relatives on my dad’s side of the family and I do not know much about the gap between my great grandfather and my dad. I would like to know what country in Africa I came from and the other “if any” diversities I may have on my father’s side of the family.
