The Africans in Spanish america played many important roles that contributed in the expeditions. The Africans who participated in there expeditions were given land to settle in and were given jobs and were paid as all others were. Africans parts in these expeditions were acting as slaves, soldiers, and assisting in expeditions. Africans might have later on become lieutenants and were given the same pay as white men.
