Miss Navajo told us in her talk that there is a tie between language and culture, and if you forget your language you forget your culture, or in vice versa. As an African American I know this as a fact. Because my ancestors were kidnapped from their homeland and forced to forget their language they forgot their culture, and that is why I don’t know what village or country in Africa I came from nor the language it speaks.
