Jolyana Bitsui is miss Navajo Nation in 2001
At the time she was young, people make fun of it if someone speak Navajo or wear traditional clothes. So When she went to elementary school, she pretend that she couldn't use Navajo language. However, later on she realize that she can't not just walk away from who she is. she said it is so important to people to understand who they are and learning their own language.
So i believe means to be a Navajo woman is feel proud of your own language and culture and keep it for next generation
