Navajo woman
i felt that Jolyana Bitsui's talk was very good. She had a lot of struggles in life, but overcame them all and left to search for other things in life. In doing so she found that she should go back home to become Ms. Navajo. She felt she did a very good job but faced some challenges in it that made her want to quit. But then her mom came to her sometime during the break in the pageant and told daughter how proud she was that she entered this pageant to show how proud she is of her heritage. When she continued the rest of the pageant not caring if she won or not but being grateful that her mom was proud of what she was doing, it made me feel like she really did do this to show how much she loved being a Navajo and how she wanted to share it with others. I feel this story was very inspirational.

I think people should be very close to their Heritage because heritage is who we are and why we're out here and that is why I liked Miss Navajo’s talk.
ReplyDeleteI concur. This was definitely an interesting account of how old traditions can blend with modern society.
